Makeup on Sunday (young kids & lads, please ignore this email)
Dear Teams,
It sounds like there has been some concern about the makeup approach this year. Please review the language I used in the Mock Oireachtas communication.
We have provided a space (Studio 4), time (1-2pm before the meeting though you can go there as early as 12:30), and coaches for makeup to happen before Mock. I will have the workshop immediately afterward.
What I would like everyone to do is to review the training videos, go there, get together and use the coaching to prepare for the Mock. I will then be able to review makeup under the lights as they dance, and teach adjustments in the workshop afterward.
It will actually be a far more fruitful approach, as it is not about me doing it or even watching me do it – the makeup needs to be practiced by the hands that will be doing it at the competition. Once you try the general application I can be far more effective once it has been attempted by showing adjustments, corrections and layering. I will then be able to spend more time on the false eyelashes, which are the trickiest bit.

U12 – Please watch the Youth video first (for products/review/ general look) and the FULL video second. That one is longer (20+ minutes), but you can watch all of the developments with more time and precision. Please note, we would prefer to keep to the taupe eyeshadow only for the U12 team as in this video – no black in the crease, so it will be a softer and more youthful look.
U15 & up – Follow the FULL VIDEO. This is the full “show” look for U15 & up.
Thank you,
Natalie
PS. We purposely left the old wig video up as it still has valid helping points on the foundation, poof, backcombing and orienting the wig. It is simply a different style wig. If you need help or practice on those elements, take a look.
